The note was vaguely surprising--then when he thought about it, it made sense. Their hosts were perceptive, and clearly wanted them all comfortable and happy as well. While it was...a bit unsettling to know they likely knew their thoughts, their wants, etc.
It wasn't unexpected on reflection.
